What I've Been Reading

I like to read, but it has to be a book that interests me or else I won't make it through the whole thing. I'm not a fan of thrillers, science-fiction or things that aren't really possible. When I find a book I am interested in, I can't seem to put the book down until I'm done, so things like cooking and cleaning go to the wayside and I catch back up on them when I'm done with the book! Luckily, I'm a fast reader!!

books, reading, recommendations

I recently joined Peanut Blossom’s Book Club for Recovering Readers and it gave me the first book I read as a great recommendation. The monthly discussions are pretty fun too! The ladies have so many great ideas for other books to read!!

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty - Major twist I wasn't quite expecting. Kept me interested to see just how everything was going to end up.

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell  - Although it's a young adult book, it was really great. Best part is that it's only 3.99 for the kindle version at amazon.com.

Living Well, Spending Less: 12 Secrets to a Good Life by Ruth Soukup - I love her blog and the book did not disappoint!

A Lancaster Country Christmas by Suzanne Woods Fisher - This was a book I found for free and had on my kindle app. I read it over Christmas when we were in Kansas. It was short and sweet, Christian romance novels are not something I typically go for but it was nice.

Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom - This was a required reading for one of my husband's classes but when he got it in the book looked really interesting so I ended up reading it before his classes even started. It is great perspective on life and really makes you think about the way you are living and how you might make some changes to fulfill all your dreams before death.

Save the Date by Mary Kate Andrews - This was a book that I picked up from the local library a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it and the characters. I might see what else this author has available at the library next time I go.

My Japanese Husband Thinks I'm Crazy by Grace Buchele Mineta - Someone on Facebook shared this book and I decided it see what it was about. Made me giggle! Loved how some much of it was the same things I encountered during our five years of living in Japan. I miss it all so much!

I just started The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks. It has started to intrigue me, I read the first two chapters then set it back down. But most of that is simply because I have become completely obsesses with Parenthood on Netflix! But anyways, 7 books down 23 more to go before the end of May!!

What kind of books do you like to read? Have any more recommendations?
